Ministries supported by TLC:

Marafiki Global AIDS Ministry

On the third Sunday of each month, we collect a special offering to support the Marafiki Children's Center in Kikuyu, Kenya which cares for children who have been orphaned by AIDS. Children may live on site at the orphanage or may be provided for while living in the community with an extended family member. The project includes housing, a school, a clinic and a farm, as well as necessary school fees for the children to achieve a complete education.

ELCA World Hunger

ELCA World Hunger

The first and fifth Sundays of each month we take a loose change offering for World Hunger. ELCA World Hunger responds to hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world by addressing root causes. Through a comprehensive program of relief, development, education, and advocacy, people are connected to the resources they need to lift themselves out of poverty. Between 70-75 percent of ELCA World Hunger funds are spent internationally, and 20-25 percent are spent domestically.

Together, in Christ's name, we experience the transforming power of connection. As individuals, congregations, and synods, our humble offerings and actions are gathered, blessed, and multiplied. Together, we are ELCA World Hunger.

The international work of ELCA World Hunger is carried out through ELCA companion relationships as well as through trusted partners like Lutheran World Relief (LWR) and The Lutheran World Federation (LWF). Because of these long-held connections to partners around the world, ELCA World Hunger efforts are efficient and effective.

This is a special effort through the ELCA World Hunger effort to reach out globally with specific gifts to others. You choose what to give and donate accordingly. It's also a great gift idea for someone you know; give the donation of a goat to that person for whom you never know what gift to get!
